Outdoors First Aid 2 day course

   

Suitable for:

This course is suitable for mountain leaders, paddle sport coaches, instructors, outdoor enthusiasts and Duke of Edinburgh Participants. The outdoor first aid course will enable you to revalidate your National Governing Body awards (NGB’s). This 16hr first aid course is recongnised by National Governing Bodies, for example single pitch award, cave instructor, trail cycle leader award, Mountain instructor award, Mountain bike leader award and BASI ski instructor.

This two-day course has been designed for outdoor enthusiasts who operate in adventurous outdoor environments.  The course focuses on incidents that could occur in isolated locations and explores various methods of incident management. Simulated scenarios are related to rock, water and weather related injuries.

•    The responsibilities of a First Aider
•    Breathing & Circulation (CPR, heart issues, vital signs)
•    Action in an Emergency in remote environments
•    Secondary Survey & Recovery Position
•    Wounds and Bleeding
•    Choking
•    Shock
•    Epilepsy
•    Outdoor injuries
•    Bones, Joints & Muscle Injuries
•    Incident management
•    Effects and treatment of heat and cold in the outdoors
•    Spinal injuries
•    Injury management in the outdoors
 

The 16hrs outdoor first aid certificate is validated for three years.
